Corrections Policy

YPA corrects material factual errors when reliable evidence supports a change. Readers, platforms and source owners may submit evidence, but no person or company can buy or demand a VERIFIED result.

Submit a correction

Use the Contact Us page and select or state Factual correction. Identify the affected YPA URL, field or passage, proposed value, direct primary source, effective date if known and your relationship to the subject.

Triage

YPA separates factual corrections from opinions, commercial requests, privacy or legal requests and general feedback. Urgency depends on potential reader harm, legal or privacy risk and the materiality of the disputed claim.

Verification

A correction is checked against retained primary or equivalent authoritative evidence. A platform statement may be relevant evidence but does not automatically establish the result. Conflicting evidence is labeled DISPUTED or left UNKNOWN until resolved.

Publication and change records

When a material field changes, YPA records the prior value or status, new value or status, source, effective date where known, verification date and affected views. Cosmetic edits do not require a material-change record.

Retractions

Content may be retracted when its core claim cannot be supported, when it creates a material legal or privacy problem or when correction would leave the page misleading. Retraction, noindex, removal and redirect decisions require per-URL evidence and separate authority.

Status labels

• VERIFIED: retained direct primary or equivalent authoritative evidence supports the scoped value.
• REPORTED: attributable evidence exists but decisive primary confirmation is incomplete.
• UNKNOWN: no reliable value is established.
• DISPUTED: credible sources conflict.
• BLOCKED: the approved route could not provide decisive evidence.
